The effect of B4C addition (0, 3 wt%, 6 9 wt%) on the mechanical properties and oxidation resistance Al2O3-C refractory ceramics was studies in paper. results indicated that could reduce apparent porosity, increase strengths improve resistance. After fired at 1100 °C, specimen with wt% achieved lowest porosity permanent linear change. cold crushing strength improved from 14.65 MPa to 47.18 MPa. modulus rupture significantly 12.1 36.29 When temperature rose 1450 change were obtained when additive wt%. CCS 12.40 57.32 CMOR also increased 7.16 28.71 correspondingly. Meanwhile, index be reduced 47.6% 3.9% content These due formation liquid phase B2O3 by reaction between O2/CO. compact structure constructed volumetric expansion B2O3.
